Couples Counselling and Supervision
Rachel Philbrick.
BACP Accredited Counsellor, Supervisor

I have a deep interest in people and their life experiences, and the way these experiences can affect our ability to thrive. We all have the ability within us to move towards contentment and fulfilment - counselling can help us discover that ability.
I am an experienced therapeutic counsellor, and have achieved accredited status as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I currently work wuth couples in private practice, as well as counselling individuals for the NHS in a Primary Care setting. In my private practice, I work with couples and offer supervision to counsellors and student counsellors. I am a qualified EMDR therapist, and use this successful approach to process trauma, and the effects of post traumatic stress.
My counselling work and experience has brought me into contact with people from all backgrounds from the age of 16 to 85 years. My couples clients have faced a wide range of concerns and relationship issues including affairs and polygamy, communication breakdown, sexual issues and negotiating the ending of relationships.
I am warm, reliable and consistent in my approach, and offer a safe, confidential space where you can talk about your concerns, and be heard, and work towards change with my support.
I also utilise my experience to supervise both student and qualified counsellors. I provide a warm, encouraging and supportive space for you to reflect, resource and grow your practice, As an expreienced integrative therapist, working with individuals (for the NHS) and couples, my approach is predominantly humanistic and psychodynamic. I alo encourage my supervisees to incorporate some creative elements into their supervision and practice if that is something that interests them, as I am a qualified dramatherapist.
